Lisa Olivia Munn was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Kimberly Schmid lived in Vietnam having Chinese ancestry while Winston Barrett Munn's clan has roots that go back to the American South. Olivia's parents divorced at the age of two. She grew up with her mother who was in the United States Air Force, and her stepfather. The family left Oklahoma, and lived in various locations, however she lived the majority of her time in Tokyo. During this time, Olivia appeared in several local stage productions. Later she became an Japanese model. As the family retreated to the United States, Olivia moved to Los Angeles to pursue her ambition of becoming an actor. Olivia's professional career started to take off following a few tiny role. The role she landed was that of Mily in the Hawaii-lensed series Beyond the Break (2005) and also the receptionist part in the film Big Stan starring Rob Schneider in Big Stan (2006). She hosts "The Daily Nut" as well as the "Formula D" Podcasts on G4. After the television series Beyond the Break, she is still surfing. Also, she has black belts in Taekwondo. When she was two, her mother remarried. The second time, she got married to an US Air Force serviceman. Despite the fact that the family moved around a often, the mother of her child was raised in Tokyo which she shared in the military. She attended at the University of Oklahoma where she was a journalist with minors in Japanese and drama art.
