Silk was born Silk was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Ilkay Silk is the daughter Peter Silk, an academic as well as Anna Silk who is a director, actress, producer, playwright. Anna has some of her earliest memories of watching and going to rehearsals for plays. Silk was a small girl in a variety of commercials. The Bachelor in Arts was conferred to her by St. Thomas University, 1997. Her early theater experience involves at minimum two shows in collaboration with Theatre St. Thomas: Seven Menus and The Kitchen. Silk relocated to Toronto in order to perform and advance in November, 1999. The following decade, she moved to Los Angeles. Seth Cooperman is her future husband, who she first was introduced to at a workshop in Los Angeles at an Actors' workshop, in 2007. The couple was married in a civil ceremony on December 10th, 2009 following their engagement. They renewed their vows April 10th of 2011, in Fredericton, after the bride changed her religion to Judaism.
